A tree will experience many cycles and stages of development throughout its life time, but stands steadfast. Trusting in the provision of its own existence. Just being.

What if the tree, ashamed of it’s own nakedness - refused to shed its leaves in the fall. Each leaf withered into a sun scorched remanent of life that once was - halted in the process, stopping new life from emerging in its place. After a couple springs, unable to absorb the radiance of the sun - it begins to die from the inside. The leaves never cover like they use to, so it feels naked and ashamed all year long. Yet it still can’t seem to let go of the old growth…
